Reminisce 1

Before I started school we, my mom and I, lived in a "little" house on the farm with my grandparents, who lived in the "big" house a few hundred yards from us, so when my mom went to work, I skipped over to grama's house in the summer and in the winter mom drove me over cuz it was too cold. We had no running water in our house just a well out side and an outhouse out back. Thank Heaven for gramas!

I remember grama and grapa used to billet some of the men from the "home" in Weyburn. The "home" housed men and others, I suppose, who had mental problems, back in those days there were three classes of people that lived there; imbeciles, morons and idiots. But really from what I can remember those men were not like that at all. In fact there was one man there who I called "Ookie". Mr. Dulock. I adored him! When he smoked he would blow the perfect "O" rings. He always made me giggle. I remember him being the hardest worker there and he lived with us for years. There was nothing wrong with him, nothing. I also remember Lloyd. He wasn't a very nice man at all, he would always try to take me for a walk but my dog Jeffy would always stand in between us and bark and bark and bark until he got someones attention. Lloyd didn't stay with us for very long. I don't remember much of him...guess that is a good thing.

Looking back at all those men that grama and grapa took in, and there were many that came and went over the years, they really just had minor mental issues. I think about the "now" and they were normal to some of the people today!!! Yikes!

My grama used to raise Dalmations. Duke and Dutchie were the "parents". Those puppies were so cute. Jeffy was a dalmation too, but we could not sell him because he had a huge black spot over his hip. He wasn't considered a Dalmation because of it, so we kept him and I loved him just the same. We would always walk down the lane and back together and I always hung onto his ear.

I started riding at age 4 on a Shetland Pony. Her name was Goldie and I loved her dearly. She was never bossy, but when she was done with me on her back she would either walk under a tree limb and knock me ass over tea kettle off, or in the winter, ride into a huge snow bank and get stuck, then I would holler until someone came to our rescue, which my Uncles would haul me out first then grab Goldie, one at the front and one at the back and lift her out. Then I would get hell for taking her there.

Bet Goldie laughed all the way to the barn!!

Justice

Yesterday, I was on the phone talking to Legs and I just happened to look out my balcony window because of the ruckus above me and luggage was flying off the balcony above me!

Neanderthal Man and Amazon Woman were going somewhere!!!...this is what they do by the way, they can't carry their luggage or garbage down the stairs like normal people, they throw it off their balcony! and a coat that she was throwing down to him, flew onto my balcony. Ahhhh, sweet!

I step out the door and grab the coat. Asked if they would like the jacket back. They say yes and I tell them that I will only give them the jacket back if they promise to stop playing their music so loud. I mean, hey, it's on my balcony!

And if I give them the jacket back and the loud music continues, I WILL be going to the landlord to tell him about the apes that live above me and their antics. They agree to keep the music low.

Last night I was disappointed because they both returned home BUT when they turned their music on, it was indeed low.

I guess we'll see how it goes.

Flickr!

Well, I have found some more groups to join. I'm kinda excited about it.

I have this fascination with old dilapidated buildings, particularly barns, old farm houses, other rusted out farmy things. I am getting quite a collection so I joined Flicker! I joined it awhile back but am now really starting to enjoy it.
While your surfing anyway, you should check it out. I have it linked to my cool things.

Suggestions

Finally!

Yesterday I had a day off!

I woke up about 7:30, my normal time, got up and did nothing until about 9 then I had a shower, did my hair and makeup, threw on a bunny hug...yes, I said it...a bunny hug!, a pair of happy jeans, shoes and went out the door to go on a bunch of errands. I got back home about noon, then sat on the couch with dinner and watched the boob tube until 4 then got ready to go to work at the hell job, which, I might add was pretty good last night. I worked until 9:30 then when I got back home, hopped into my jammies and watched more boob tube until midnight, then promptly hit the hay!

At 12:10 is when my early morning went to hell.

The neanderthal and his amazon woman who live above me, stomped up the stairs and into their apartment (which is directly above me), kicked off their boots and then proceeded to put music on until 12:48am. I was not impressed. I have already asked him to turn his music down twice and told him that if he continues to have his music that loud I will talk to the landlord. He told me in no uncertain terms that he was not turning it down, that it would stay the same. I have never asked him to turn his music off, just down. What the hell?

The rules of the apartment are simple. No loud music from "music machines" and no noise after 11pm. I think it is relatively easy to follow, but we are dealing with an imbecile and his amazon woman....this woman is not only a big girl but a tall one to boot. She is a brick shit house on legs. She even scares me! and I am no slim jim either.

What am I to do? I have thought about this and rent is due very soon. I am thinking that I will ask the landlord when I hand in the rent to see if he can attach with their receipt rules of the building with the noise control and music machine statements underlined. Maybe they will get the hint, but then again, life may become worse for me since their floor is my ceiling.

I hate apartment living so much!

So....any suggestions?

Cattle kickers

Had to wear my cattle kickers in to work today. What are cattle kickers you ponder? Well they are my heavy duty, fight-the-mud-shit-snow boots. I waded through about 2 feet of snow that was packed behind my car this morning. However, I still have my trusty winter tires on and I pulled outta my little parking spot like there was no tomorrow! Varooommmm!

Now the drive to work was ok but getting into the college was a little trickier. Why you ask? Well, eventhough I get along with everyone here and I think all are really nice people but really, driving a little garden tractor here and there is a pretty cushy job if you get my "drift".....hahahaha....no pun intended!! I kill me.

But never the less I am here at work and I am staying here. There is more danding to be had so I am here for the long haul.

I think I will be parking on the street tonight.

Itchin'

Today, I am dressed in spring/summer clothes along with the whole open toe shoe thing as well. I am ready for it to be warmer. No more cold wind, no more dark clouds that look like snow. I'm happy to hear people say that those dark clouds look like rain!

Now that I have my first "ride" under my belt, I am ready, I am itchin to go. I called up ma kettle last night and we discussed the "old Crony weekend" on May long. So, I agreed to come home for May long to go riding for 4 days. Yup, 4 days of nothin but roughin it in the bush on camp coffee, dirty buns filled with whatever sandwich meat we can find, stuffed in a saddle bag on horseback. Ahhhh, heaven! The smell of horse sweat, mixed with fly repellent, well, it can't get much better than that, well, maybe once the camp fire gets started a cold beer will be in order!

Every May long weekend (well I have missed a few due to being in LA with Wilma and Bruno) ma kettle and I and our neighbour friend hook up with a bunch of ma's friends (60+ years) and we rough it for the weekend. They (the old cronnies), bring the Young un's (thats the 40- years) and we are the ones who have to get on and off the nags to open and close all gates or hoist up a rider or two back onto their trusty steeds! It is a fabulous weekend, The days are spent riding and rekindling old friendships and the nights are filled with laughter, cowboy poetry and stories.

I am really looking forward to it. It's been awhile.

The Stint

Well it's over for another month. My farm sitting stint is over until May. I enjoyed myself. I hung out with the horses and cows and their babies and was just able to do my own thing. Legs came out on Saturday, we grabbed two horses, saddled up and away we went! 2 hours of horseback, it was great! I am really sore today yet. I forgot I had those muscles in them there legs o' mine! Ahhh getting old I guess.

The creeper dude came out once more while I was there and I hid in amongst the horses, he didn't see me at all! I felt really sneaky! So, he fed the cows and left as fast as he arrived. That was a good day too.
I am looking forward to warmer days so I can saddle up and ride again.

The Creeps

I can get along with almost anyone and even if I don't like you I still can get along with you, but there is one person that I have encountered that makes the little hair stand up on the back of my neck, makes me want to turn and run yelling and screaming, makes me want to lock the door and hide.

This person is the son of some people whom I call family while living here in the Border Town and their son is about 45 years of age I would say and married. He "pops" out to the farm (that's where I am currently) and he seems to know when I am alone. He will come at the oddest times, like over the supper hour, he'll ring the doorbell and walk in, stand at the entrance with his legs spread and his arms crossed, just taking up the whole entrance, making himself feel "big" and I just feel like bolting out the back door. Believe you, me, I keep my distance! I now lock the door too!

He was out yesterday and I was in the feedlot feeding the cows and the horses and I turned around and there he was! About two feet away from me. He doesn't say anything, he is just there! He scared the liver out of me. He sneaks everywhere. It is really freaking me out. What really gets me too is the fact that when he does this, he always grabs a pitch fork from the barn and brings it out to "help" me but he never helps, just stands there and gawks. It's really messed up.

He always tells me he is checking the cows but he never does, not while I am there anyway. I've gotten so that I will walk into the horses. It's really funny but they sense that I am not comfortable with this guy and three of the mares will stand between us and the one mare will pin her ears at him. (I feel safe in there with the girls.) I''ve often wondered if she would go after him. Would be kinda interesting to see! He must know that they don't like him because once I weed my way through the horses, he doesnt follow.

Now normal people will yell at you and say Hi as soon as they see you, but not this guy. It is weird.

I will be glad when the week is over.

Retro Junk

I have a song in my head that has played over and over and over and no matter what I do whether it is listening to another song, talking to someone or staring at my photoshop, trying to figure out what to do next on this poster, the same song, well, it's not even a song, it is a jingle continues right where it left off.

The jingle is "What would you do for a Klondike Bar". So I decided to surf the web in search of one of many commercials and I found it. It's called Retro Junk and its quite a site. I added it to my "cool things" list. Ahhh, but I digress.

It's insane. I'm insane.

Those cute eyelashes

Ahhhh, a day off. Well kinda. I have to work at the hell job...4 till 9:30 tonight. The nice thing is that I get to work with Crystal-Lite for the evening.

I am beat. I think I worked a gazillion hours yesterday...that's with heels! Stupid girl. About 7pm I kicked the damn things off and went on my merry way after that. Shoulda put some points on an balleted my way everywhere!! Is that a word "balleted"? I'm thinking not, but it works for me. I'm still in a fuzzy mental state with a gin caesar beside me. That should perk me up!

Am farm sitting this week and there are a few cows that have to have their babies yet. Not very familiar with that, so when I went out this morning at 7 to feed and check every one out, I gave those girls a stern talking to and told them that I wanted no trouble from any of them, that I was just the babysitter, and that they were to have those babies on their own cuz I would not be much help.

Well, two hours later, I went out and sure enough...there was number 4! No problems at all! Now, I have to wait for number 5 and 6.

I hope they heard me.

Enjoyment from all places

They made it, they just got here. Who? Ballet Jorgen of course...silly rabbit! They are performing here tonight and their warm up was just fabulous! I have been looking forward to this performance for quite some time now. The costumes are beautiful, all the rich fabrics and colours. The stage is magnificent. Ohh, I can hardly wait for tonight. Goody, goody, goody!

Since I have started working here, I must say that I have come across some charming people. The stage manager for this performance is quite nice, but the lady who I have been dealing with is adorable. Its funny how a person emails these people for so long and then you finally get to meet them and it is so nice to be able to put a face to all those cyber messages.

I do enjoy my job.

Allllrighty then...

You know, I have just about had enough of the jibs, jives, smart-ass remarks, and attitudes. I am sorry that things have happened to people that they did not want to happen but destiny and fate and decision making have all fallen into place and what's done is done. It happens to everyone.

Shit happens.

I have had to make adjustments and pull through all that crap that I just recently went through, I have had an attitude change! and well guess what, there is a new Fairy Mae in town and she isn't going to put up with other peoples temper tantrums, guilt trips, or snide remarks any more and if the masses that "know" me don't like it, then too friggin bad.

They've never given a sniff before with the sarcastic comments made to me, why the hell should they be offended now when I bark back. Shocking isn't it? Not used to it maybe? Heaven forbid, I should have an opinion or feelings on the subject. I mean really, has anyone ever asked me?! Nope. Good ole fairy Mae will be ok with it. Don't tell me not to take it personal, don't tell me to drop it. If it's a comment made towards me that affects ME in any way, shape, or form then I have a right to defend myself. If it's a comment in general then I have an opinion too don't I? Cripes!

Then they wonder why I never want to go anywhere or see any one.

I am sick of it. Absolutely sick of it!

And to think, I am having a fabulous day today. The sun is shining, work is good, I am farm sitting for the next 10 days. It can't get any better!

Big mouth will travel!

I am happy to say that yesterday went well. No trickery, no April Fool's whatsoever. The office folk were thinking of pulling something on me but decided that maybe it would not be such a good idea. I had a rough enough week last week.

Today is another day and all is well here.
I found a quote this early morning and thought it was a good one.

Albert Einstein professed: I never think of the future - it comes soon enough.

He is right.

This is also true for what goes around eventually comes around....hence...the future!
One of my beloved relations is finding that out right now. Once again, her mouth has gotten her into trouble. So much so, that some bigwigs came down from head office and gave her and her class a lecture on behavior and respect for others. Some down right name calling was happening...the thing that makes me laugh is that they are all in their 30-40's! What a scream!
They are health care workers who just can't get along with one another. Now I ask you...would you want a bunch of "children" looking after your loved ones in a nursing home/hospital while they are all fighting? Not this cowboy! I would be afraid that they would take it to work (which....ah hemmm...they have!) and give the wrong meds to a patient. Oh girls!

Anyway, my relation was told she had a bad attitude and was given an assignment and was told she was getting another few weeks added to her program so they could monitor the situation!

What a gong show.
I guess that's what you get for choosing to use your big mouth, rather than shutting up and just listening.

Weigh Day

I am pleased to say that after a week of Festival. I am still the same. No more, no less.

I have been following a food/exercise flow somewhat and with only a month and a little bit left its time to get "into" it. So now that weigh in is over today. I will start anew for these last remaining weeks and see where I am at for next weeks weigh in.

Movie Gallery

I watched a few movies over the past few days and here are my thoughts on them...ahhh hem

No Country for Old Men....I HATED the ending!! I hate endings like that...just like the ending for Cast Away...just stupid. I like to see a conclusion. A means to an end. Over.

I did enjoy the movie, Anton was so evil. He gave me the creeps. I enjoyed the performance of Tommy Lee and Josh Brolin. Even Woody was good. But the end...tisk, tisk. However, the end did make sense. Just like the title, No Country for Old Men. It was fitting.

The Darjeeling Limited...Loved it. It was filmed in India and some parts were funny, some not so much. In whole I liked the way it all fit. It jumped around a bit but it all made sense in the end.

Death at a Funeral...A British Movie and it was a laugh-out-loud film. I'm not saying much more other than...you must see this movie. It was directed by Frank Oz. Need I say more?

Ahhhh George
