Only Child Syndrome

My photo
The fact is this...I am a LATE thirty-something, an only child with one living parent and I hate, by the way, being an only child.

I am a drama queen and I know it, and I love it and I won't change it!

I am finally in a career that I love and I finally found someone special, just for me and my dramatic nature!

I am a horse lover. I love and ride Appaloosa horses.

I am and artsy-farts and love all aspects of the Arts and Culture. I am an Independent Stylist for Stella & Dot and love the jewels.

I have a dog who is my four legged baby, her name is Effie and I have another three legged baby and her name is Daisy.

Five Alarm Pizza

Well, the girls here at work, plus myself decided to have the very hard left over pizza for dinner.
Gwen: "How long should I heat this for?"
Me: "Oh, about 3 minutes."

Gwen walks away in to her office leaving me, Blanche and Berline in the box office.

I am plating a piece of pizza for myself while the other two girls are on the phone.

Me: "What's Burning??"
ALL: OMG The pizza is on fire!"

I run over to the microwave, open the door only to pull out one piece of SMOKIN' pizza.

With smoke everywhere in the box office, Gwen running to grab...of all things the aerosol air freshner can, which was being sprayed by her, I am running the plate of fired up pizza to the tap to douse it with water and as for the college....well, at least the sprinklers didn't go off....only the fire alarms!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA......

Well, needless to say, we cleared the college....What day is it again?

Jann called The Diva and she will be airing on Jann's CBC radio talk show on July 3rd!!

Way to go Diva!!!

Yikes

YIKES!!

I have not been on the internet for about a week or more. It has been so crazy at work and at home. Moving, dance festivals, inter-office fights....WOW!

The Person that I hate is being an ass....again...surprise, surprise...just when I was ready for him too and the buggar backed down. Ahhh there will be a next time, I am sure!

I am getting ready for Full Length Theatre Festival in April. I was going to try to get to my Chiropractic Equine Course in May but that's not going to happen so hopefully in the fall I'll be able to go.
It's not that money is tight. I'm just not sure where its going to be allocated. What Buster wants me to pay for and so forth.

I am however, going to go in May to pick up my four legged kid from my mom. I am so excited to get my baby back. She has been living with my mom for 5 Christmas' and now...now I can have her back. I have missed her so much. I am hoping Buster and Dee will love her and accept her. Buster also wants.....now Wilma, Bruno...don't bug him about this....but....

a Chihuahua.

Yes, you saw correctly.

Buster had one as a kid and now wants another...two dogs...thats ok. I am happy with that. Its kinda lonely when he is gone for two weeks at a time. The hampster and the fish don't hang out with me much.

My Mom and Goddaughter came down on the weekend. They spent the night at the new house. They attended the Gala with me, eventhough I couldn't be with them very much. I think they enjoyed it.

There was one of my cast members (who is going to apprentice at Full Length) who has it in his head that he is going to be a famous actor. He was our understudy for the play. This little guy has a heart of gold but is very disillusioned. He came from out East to find his calling! Acting! In....the Border Town? Ummmm, no.

So, he is going to attend Full Length Festival as an apprentice...because according to him all actors start out on stage then head to Vancouver, then get an acting job, then make it big. I don't have the heart to tell him that it just doesn't happen that way. That when they say don't call us, we'll call you...they mean it. That when they say you are not for the part, they mean it and when they say, you got the part, if you are not a principle actor, the pay is crap and you need another job to support the "acting career". He is such an intense person too. He gives it his all at everything. Take a guess as to how old this guy is. When I finally asked him how old he was, I nearly fell over.

It should be interesting to see him there, to see him interact...no pun intended with everyone.

Dance season is upon me here at work. Its is Ukrainian Dance this weekend. Next weekend its just your regular ole jazz hands and tap along with ballet, hip hop...if you could call it hip hop....most of the hip hop ladies are a bunch of overweight girls trying to be someone they ARE NOT! It's tragically funny. I mean good for them, but oh dear! To sit and watch them do the head whip and the butt bounce...

Ahhh, I love my job.

The Funnies!!

How come?

I got into work today and the boss sent out an "Atta boy" to Rod-Nick the Stage Manager as he has been working really hard lately due to the $60,000.00 dimmer lights crashing and us having to order new ones as well as the production of the play in full swing not to mention the performances being done....

So, the person that I hate got the update by email of the atta boy and called work. Now we must remember that the person that I hate is in Vancouver being the spot light man. Anyway....he was CHOKED that Rod-Nick got a note of thanks on the newsletter that was sent out to at least 350 people! Hahahahaha.....that really got his goat! He was sooo angry, the F-bombs were flying everywhere. He went on about how he does this and this and this and never gets any thanks. But we must remember too that the world DOES revolve around him and no one else.

Needless to say, we at work, got a big kick out of it.

Maybe this will be the straw that breaks his back and he quits this time...one can only hope!

Done like Dinner

Well, the saga is over.
Legs and I are done.

How did things go you might ask?

Well, if you had decided to log on to his facebook and see his status listed as single...you would have known the same time I did! Yup...the coward didn't even have the balls to tell me.

He called me the day before...we talked as usual, nothing struck me as odd. We talked about the upcoming weekend, what I was to get for a gift for the wedding we were to attend together...I got no indication it was over. Nothing. Zero. Zilch.

I was very upset at first. But then I got am email from his Aunt....HIS AUNT!! She told me that I was a good person, that his family were nothing but mean, nasty people and took anyone they could for granted. Squeezed the life out of them and then threw them away and that I should be glad that they are no longer in my life.

That my friends......

Made me smile!

Oh, what a time!

The long weekend was one of thee best weekends I have had in a long, long, time.

After I had the snail intervention, and released the little creatures into the slough, I headed to Wilma`s for an evening of sushi making. Yes, the art of sushi is definately something a person needs to practice...but let me tell ya, they were deeelish!

The company, although most new to me, were wonderful ladies brought together for a wonderful night of wee drinkies, food and comradery.

A few young and a few young a heart, you could tell the seasoned drinkers from the non seasoned ones! A few power naps here and there which was amusing to see....ahhhh, the good ole`days!...wait....from what I can remember sleeping around a bunch of drinkers was not the best idea!

But the night was filled with fun and laughter and really, that`s what counts!

The next day we (Puffy, Wilma and I) were off the the lake to see Bruno and his better half.

When we arrived, it was boat launch weekend. We prepped the boat to glide on to the lake, once that was done, we played poker pool, sang 80`s tunes all night and ate, drank and laughed.

The whole weekend consisted of good friends, music, food, wee drinkies, movies, pool, singing, boating, fishing, tanning! Yes, tanning! and laughs, laughs, and more laughs....AND

THE BET!

There were....

Well, I just spend 5 great days with theatre friends. Some of whom I have not seen in years, some a few months, some a few days.

I managed to stay with Bruno and his better half and their four legged kids. It was wonderful. It was peaceful, it was great to be able to laze around and gab without having to talk over someone, or look over someone to talk. I had my own room!

The meals were fab. The company was comforting.

The Festival was chaotic at times. The plays were fantastic. The adjudicator - maybe a little off her rocker...but then who isn't really.

There were egos to be stroked and time outs to be had.
There was dancing to be done (or the lack thereof).
There was drinking and round table discussions.
There were fashion do's and fashion dont's.
There were discussions needing to be discussed.
There were awards to be won.
There were smiles to be had and giggles with tearshed....
There were Tums and Rolaids to be consumed.
There were pokers games to be dealt with.
There was Green Room food to be fondled and mucked around with.
and let's not forget the bets....

Would you sooner bet on an Anything, a Something, or an Everything.

Would I do it again....you bet....on an Everything. Everything that I did these past 5 days, I would definately do again.

(even the kitties)

Frost warning!

The forecast for work today is a little chilly.

Make sure if you step inside, not to remove any scarves, coats or mittens. It is well below zero indoors.

If you have extra earmuffs, slippers and socks please ration and hand out if absolutely necessary.

I repeat, work today - a little chilly!

DO NOT GO INDOORS! Hazardous to your health. Cover all exposed skin areas!

This just in.....

This picture was just dropped off at our location - the box office.
This photo was taken upstairs in the lightning tech room!
Whew!!! Very chilly up there!!!

Getting Even

My ma sent this joke to me...thought it was pretty cute...thought I would share (for a change).

One December day we found an old straggly cat at our door.
She was a sorry sight. Starving, dirty, smelled terrible, skinny, and hair all matted down.
We felt sorry for her, put her in a carrier and took her to the vet.
We didn't know what to call her, so we named her 'Pussycat.'
The vet decided to keep her for a day or so. He said he would let us know when we could come and get her.
My husband (the complainer) said, 'OK, but don't forget to wash her, she stinks.'
He reminded the vet that it was his WIFE (me) that wanted the dirty cat, not him.
My husband and my Vet don't see eye to eye.
The vet calls my husband 'El-Cheap-O', and my husband calls the vet 'El-Charge-O'.
They love to hate each other, and constantly 'snip' at one another, with my husband getting in the last word on this particular occasion.
The next day my husband had an appointment with his doctor, who is located in the same building, next door to the vet. The MD's waiting room and office was full of people waiting to see the doctor.
A side door opened and the vet leaned in - he had obviously seen my husband arrive.
He looked straight at my husband and in a loud voice said,
"Your wife's pussy doesn't stink any more, and it's finally clean and shaved, so she now smells like a rose. Oh, and, by the way, I think she's pregnant. God only knows who the father is!'

Then he closed the door.

Now THAT, my friends, is getting even

Ahhhh George
